What Stands Out in the Grey Market
Grey market premium, or GMP, is an unofficial price for the shares before they list. It moves daily and can be wrong. As of September 21, the spread is wide. Adroit Industries shows the highest premium at about 23.9% of its upper band, followed by A-One Steels at about 14.8% and Varmora Granito at about 6.8%. Elevate Campuses, the largest issue, sits at about 4.4%. ArMee Infotech and Swastika Infra are under 2%, and Moneyview is flat at ₹0.
The two biggest issues by size, Elevate Campuses and Moneyview, are not the ones with the strongest grey market interest. GMP reflects what grey market traders are willing to pay, not the quality of a business, so it is one input among many.
Fresh Issue vs Offer for Sale
- Entirely fresh issue: ArMee Infotech and Elevate Campuses. All the money goes to the company.
- Fresh issue plus offer for sale: Varmora Granito, Adroit Industries, Swastika Infra, Moneyview and A-One Steels. The offer for sale part goes to selling shareholders, not the company. Varmora Granito has the largest such part at ₹388.02 Cr, more than its fresh issue.
The offer for sale share is worth checking in each offer document, because it shows how much of the raise leaves the company.
How to Plan Your Funds
- Applications block money until allotment. The closing dates run from Sept 24 to Sept 28, so funds for the later issues stay blocked into the following week.
- Varmora Granito closes first, on Sept 24, with allotment on Sept 25. The four September 23 issues close on Sept 25 with allotment on Sept 28.
- Lot sizes differ a lot. Moneyview needs 441 shares at ₹34, while A-One Steels needs 37 shares at ₹405, but both come to about ₹15,000.
Many of these issues are racing the September 30 approval window. We explained why in why 25+ IPOs are racing to list before September 30. You can track every open issue on our IPO GMP tracker.
